Their 25mm internal width provides broad base for XC MTB tyres. This width is the sweet spot for aluminium XC rims because going wider adds a significant weight

We tested several lighter rim alternatives but found them all to be dent prone. The LOWMASS XA25-440 has 30% thicker hooks than the equivalent DT SWISS rim, making it much more dent resistant

Knowing that many riders use their XC bikes/wheels for fun at trail parks too, we spec'd our Aluminium XC MTB Wheelset to hit the balance between light, but not too light to restrict year round fun when not on the race course

(weighed with 24 SAPIM CX-RAY spokes and aluminium nipples, BITEX CL Boost thru axle hubs and SRAM XD free hub)
