IS THIS THE TRICKIEST BAR TAPE EVER?

My Lizardskins bar tape was looking a bit worse for wear before the season... 

Apparently it always does this, so time for a change. 

I have got on well with Fi'zi:k bar tape before and liked the look of their VENTO tape. 

It's a shame I didn't think about how it would be to fit... 

The lengthwise groves looked like they would add some grip to the already tacky surface. 

Cross bikes seem to have become easier to look after in recent years, with the exception of bar tape, there's an element of artistry involved that I don't seem to be able to master.

I am not normally too particular about my bar tape, I like it to be 'neat enough'. 

But, the Vento tape is incredibly tricky to fit neatly, every little misalignment stands out. 

I raced with it at the weekend, and it is indeed grippy, but extremely tricky. 

It turned out ok in the end though.
