Our stock of FMB Slalom Open Tubulars are a more durable version with an additional layer in the sidewall and a strengthened bead

They were early prototypes from the development of the FMB's Tubleless. However the development of FMB Tubeless for CX has been shelved

There are greater variations in rim diameter than FMB are happy with (particularly aluminium rims) so deciding on dimensions for tubeless, that will not need tools to fit, requires more research

These tyres share the same dimensions as the regular Open Tubulars so although the manufacturing costs were higher, FMB have approved these for sale as a more durable Open Tubular

Please do not buy these thinking that you might be able to get them set up tubeless - they are not approved sale as tubeless... 

They are marked with rainbow colours as per the photo 

These are super supple clincher tyres which when combined with a latex inner tube have much of the feel of the tubular version

FMB's Slalom tread shares a similar style to the traditional Grifo, but has some slightly more aggressive "z" on the edge tread, giving it a little bit more bite. 

For full mud conditions we also stock Super Mud Open Tubulars

These are hand made in France just like FMB's tubulars and share exactly the same tread with a 330 TPI polycotton carcass/sidewalls

Measuring 32.6mm (at 25psi) on a 20mm internal LOWMASS AC20-390 rim means these are good for UCI races

Being hand made, expect some manufacturing variations, just like with FMB's tubular tyres

Combine these with DUGAST Latex Inner Tubes for near tubular feel

FMB Open Tubulars are made of less durable materials than a normal vulcanised tyre but we have used them regularly in training for 12mths + and have been pleased with their durability

They are the ultimate mud clincher - out performing other open tubulars and tubeless mud tyres

You can use these with tubeless rims, although ENVE rim's hook is deemed too aggressive/sharp for these (and other brands) Open Tubulars

Open Tubulars are much easier to fit if you use talc on the inner tube, the inside of the tyre and on the bead. You will need to get the tyre bead into the U of the rim, in the same way as you do to fit a tubeless tyre
